Testing

What happens during a hearing test?

  • Case History

  • Otoscopy

  • Tympanometry

  • Audiometric Test

Specialty Testing:

  • Auditory Brainstem Response Testing (ABR)

  • Auditory Processing Disorder Testing (currently only for children under 7)

Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) Testing

At Back Mountain Hearing Care, we provide comprehensive APD evaluations to identify specific listening challenges, followed by personalized auditory training designed to strengthen the brain’s ability to process and understand speech, especially in noisy or challenging environments.

Hearing Device Selection & Fitting

Once a hearing evaluation has been completed treatment options will be discussed. If it is determined that hearing aids are the best course of treatment, you and your audiologist will work together to determine which hearing device will best suit your hearing loss and lifestyle.

Earwax Removal

Earwax build up can lead to:

  • Earache

  • Ear infection

  • Itchiness

  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)

  • A feeling of fullness in the ear

  • Dizziness

  • Hearing Aid breakdowns

There are multiple techniques used for wax removal.

Tinnitus

Tinnitus can affect sleep, concentration, and quality of life, but you don't have to simply learn to live with it. At Back Mountain Hearing Care, we provide comprehensive tinnitus evaluations and personalized treatment plans, including sound therapy, hearing technology when appropriate, and evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
